Every mate has his own nickname like Den Dikke, mr. always late, Casanova, klein duimpje, de duiker en ‘t plooierke. Maes is helping you to say ‘I love you’ to your mates by simply putting your nicknames on Maes glasses. FamousGrey created a campaign on the subject. It was our job to make this campaign even bigger via press and influencers.
What we did.
For the launch of this campaign we worked together with two football teams: Royal Antwerp FC and KV Oostende. During the match they wore special shirts, displaying their nickname instead of their real name. The press loved this and we managed to get a lot of coverage in national news media. On top of that we pitched several interviews with different players from each team, during which they talked about their nicknames and how they got them, and we collaborated with some of their biggest (and influencing) fans, so they could support their favourite team in their own personalised shirts.
What we got.
The enthusiasm of journalists resulted in a long list of articles in print media and on news websites. We got coverage in newspapers such as Gazet Van Antwerpen, Nieuwsblad and others.
